J A Rattigan & Son Limited recognises the high importance of Health and Safety and environment considerations and this is communicated to all our staff through our company induction. Our company induction document informs current staff and new starters of the company policies and procedures. All plant operators are regularly inspected to ensure that they hold all relevant documentation required to operate the plant equipment to which they are assigned. An annual induction takes place to reinforce existing legislation and any new legislation introduced.
At the present time J A Rattigan & Son Limited are exploring the possibility of seeking accreditation under ISO14001 ‘Environmental Management Systems’ with the following aims:
- implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system
- assure ourselves of our conformance with our stated environmental policy
- demonstrate conformance
- ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
- seek certification of its environmental management system by an authorised external certification body
- make a self-determination of conformance
To demonstrate our commitment to the environment we make sure our fleet and operations minimise the CO2 produced by being modern, up to date and regularly maintained. The average age of our fleet is between 12 and 18 months old.
